What does your profession involve?

Working with children with developmental disabilities (students with an autism spectrum disorder) who need an alternative method of communication like as AAC.

Are you familiar with AAC methods? Since when?

I am familiar with certain methods. I learned the basic information at university, but most of it at work during education, my own research and working with students.

In which situations do you use AAC methods?

To express wishes.

Which are the benefits of using AAC methods?

Easy to use, it does not take much time to prepare materials, and offer more possibilities for progress.

In which situation have you seen these benefits?

It enables concrete and functional communication.

Do you think AAC methods are well known in the educational field in your country?

I think they are not well known.

Do you think that AAC-related practices should be improved? Why?

Yes, I consider. Every teacher should have at least basic knowledge of AAC, because they cannot know when they will need it.
